New to seeds? This is genuinely all there is to it. Promise.
Pop peat-free compost into trays or small pots and firm it gently. Damp, not soggy โ think wrung-out sponge.
Scatter seeds thinly and cover with a dusting of compost. A rule of thumb: bury to twice the seed's depth.
Set them on a bright windowsill out of cold draughts. Keep the surface just moist and wait for the magic.
Once seedlings have a couple of true leaves, move them up a pot size, then out to the garden after the frosts.
Tell us your light, your space and your patience level โ we'll build you a beginner-proof seed list.
